About the CPS Energy Savers Insulation Rebate Program
CPS Energy, a San Antonio area utility, is offering a rebate of $0.25 per square foot of attic insulation, no matter the material (fiberglass, spray foam or cellulose—radiant barriers do not apply). The rebates are only available for home retrofit projects. Below are some guidelines for CPS Energy attic insulation rebates:
- Attic insulation must be installed between conditioned (air conditioned living area below ceiling) and unconditioned areas (attic) to qualify.
- If there is more than 24 inches of attic clearance before the new insulation is installed, the final insulation must be at least R-38.
- All insulation must be new materials and have R-value stated on the packaging material. Garages and other non-living areas do not qualify.

You can also use their website to download the attic insulation rebate application. The completed application form, together with the itemized receipt detailing the work completed, must be received by December 31, 2016 to be eligible.
About the GVEC Energy Efficiency Rebate Program
The Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) Energy Efficiency Rebates aim to alleviate some of the initial costs toward leading a greener lifestyle. They offer attic and wall insulation rebates for home energy improvements.Below are some guidelines for the rebates:
- Garages and other non-conditioned areas do not apply.
- Final insulation level minimum shall be R-38 (attic) or R-13 (wall) to qualify.
- Insulation materials must be new.
